Jasmin has extensive experience working with individuals who are struggling with mental health challenges like depression, life transitions, stress and anxiety through her professional work in various social service organization. Beyond providing counselling support to youths and young adults, Jasmin has also conducted mental health psycho-education workshops to educate and provide support for parents and caregivers whose children may be struggling with mental health issues.

Jasmin draws upon a wide range of counselling modalities in her therapy work and will select the most suited to support her clients in meeting the therapy goals. She is well-versed in using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to aid her clients to be more aware of their thought processes. She also uses Dialectic Behavioural Therapy to guide her clients to master healthy coping skills to manage intense emotions. Where necessary, she will help her clients gain awareness of attachment styles to improve their relationship dynamics with others. Regardless of the modality, Jasmin firmly believes in providing a safe and non-judgemental presence for her clients. She sees that healing and growth happen best within a safe and secure relationship where one can learn to practice self-compassion and self-acceptance. During her free time, Jasmin enjoys watching feel-good movies and musicals; and learning to dance.

One of Jasmin’s clients was a female adolescent, who was struggling with motivation issues as a result of academic stress. Through counselling, Jasmin helped her client to learn how to manage her stress and her emotions better through learning effective coping skills and strategies. She has also learnt how to better manage her expectations of herself and of others, and was able to identify and challenge her unhelpful thinking patterns and beliefs. At the end of 16 sessions, her client has grown in self-awareness, gained a more balanced perspective of the challenges she was facing, and was able to grow her motivation towards her studies through re-evaluating and rediscovering her life purpose.
